At Your Order Please we build YoPOS, the point of sale software restaurants use to take orders, print bills and run their kitchens. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, applications and related services (the “Services”), why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. By using the Services you agree to this Policy.
1. Two Different Roles
It matters which hat we are wearing when we handle information, so we are explicit about it:
- As a controller: for information about you as our customer or website visitor — your account, your enquiries, your billing, and how you use our site. This Policy governs that information.
- As a processor: for information a restaurant enters into its own YoPOS account about its guests and staff. That data belongs to the restaurant and we process it only on their instructions. If you are a guest of a restaurant that uses YoPOS, please contact that restaurant about its own privacy practices.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, business name, email, phone number, role, and login credentials.
- Billing information: billing address, tax identifiers, plan and invoice history. Card details are handled by our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers.
- Enquiry information: whatever you send us through a demo request, contact form, email or support ticket.
- Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, pages viewed, and timestamps.
- Usage information: which features you use and how often, so we can see what is working and what is not.
- Cookies and similar technologies: as described in section 6.
3. Why We Use It
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate and maintain the Services, and keep your account working
- Process subscriptions, payments and invoices
- Respond to demo requests, questions and support tickets
- Send service messages such as outage notices, security alerts and billing reminders
- Send marketing messages where you have agreed to receive them — you can opt out at any time
- Improve the product, diagnose faults and understand how the Services are used
- Detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the Services secure
- Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
4. We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising. We do not use a restaurant’s guest data to market to those guests.
5. Who We Share It With
We share personal information only where it is needed, and only with:
- Service providers working on our behalf — cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, customer relationship and support tools, and analytics. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
- Integration partners you choose to connect, such as payment gateways or delivery aggregators. What they receive is governed by their own privacy terms.
- Professional advisers such as auditors and lawyers, where confidentiality obligations apply.
- Authorities where we are legally required to disclose, or to establish or defend legal claims.
- A successor entity if the business is merged, acquired or restructured — in which case this Policy continues to apply until replaced.
6. Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:
- Strictly necessary — signing you in, keeping your session, and security. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — understanding which pages are visited and where people get stuck, so we can improve them.
- Marketing — measuring whether a campaign reached the right audience.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site from working. Embedded third-party content, such as our contact form, may set its own cookies under its provider’s policy.
7. How Long We Keep It
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, then delete or anonymise it.
- Account data — for the life of the account, plus a short grace period after closure so you can retrieve or reactivate it.
- Billing records — for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them.
- Support correspondence — for a limited period, so we have context if you contact us again.
- Analytics data — in aggregated or anonymised form, which is no longer personal information.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions and regular backups, and we limit access to personal information to staff who need it for their job. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulator as required by applicable law and without undue delay.
9. International Transfers
We and our service providers may store or process information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected to a comparable standard, using appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where they apply.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete information where we no longer have a reason to keep it
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing
- Withdraw consent where our processing relies on it
- Ask for your data in a portable, machine-readable format
- Complain to your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these, email us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time your local law allows.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Services are built for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the Services change or the law changes. The “Last Updated” date above shows the latest version, and we will give notice of material changes by email or in the product. Continued use after the changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
